Victoria Cuevas

Nació en 1989. Creció entre Guadalajara y Ciudad de México.

Obtuvo su formación en Gráfica Contemporánea en Il Bisonte Foundation for Art and Printmaking, Florencia, Italia. Ha realizado residencias artísticas en Arthouse Holland, Leiden, Países Bajos y en SLAUGHTERHAUS Print Studio, en Londres.

El trabajo de Victoria establece un diálogo profundo con la memoria, la herencia y el duelo, reflexionando sobre cómo estos elementos se conectan con la existencia y la preservación del espacio habitado. Concibe el cuerpo como un contenedor del tiempo, y considera el acto de recordar como una forma esencial de preservar percepciones que actúan como mapas para la experiencia humana y su trascendencia.

Su práctica multidisciplinaria abarca principalmente escultura, gráfica y pintura, con exploraciones en instalación, fotografía y textil. Recientemente, ha incorporado el movimiento auténtico y el clown como nuevas herramientas para establecer un diálogo con el mundo.

A lo largo de su trayectoria ha acumulado mas de 15 años de experiencia en el cine, dentro del área de dirección de arte, en producciones realizadas en México, Italia y Sudamérica.

Actualmente, Victoria Cuevas actualmente vive y trabaja en México.

Born in 1989, grew up between Guadalajara and Mexico City.

Trained in Contemporary Printmaking at Il Bisonte Foundation for Art and Printmaking in Florence, Italy. Completed artist residencies at Arthouse Holland in Leiden, the Netherlands, and at SLAUGHTERHAUS Print Studio in London.

The work engages in a deep dialogue with memory, inheritance, and grief, reflecting on how these elements connect to existence and the preservation of inhabited space. The body is conceived as a container of time, and the act of remembering is viewed as an essential means of preserving perceptions that serve as maps for human experience and its transcendence.

A multidisciplinary practice that primarily encompasses sculpture, printmaking, and painting, with explorations in installation, photography, and textiles. Recently incorporating authentic movement and clowning as new tools to engage in dialogue with the world.

Over 15 years of experience in film, working in the art direction department on productions in Mexico, Italy, and South America.

Victoria Cuevas currently lives and works in Mexico.
